Nearly 120,000 automobiles sold in Vietnam in 2009
The
Vietnam Automobile Manufactures’ Association (VAMA) said that its total sales
of vehicles in 2009 reached 119,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 7
percent.
In the
first haft of last year, the manufactures hit snags due to the global financial
crisis but in the second half of the year they witnessed a steady increase in
sales. In December alone last year, VAMA sold more than 15,000 cars.
Toyota
had the lion share of the market, accounting for a quarter of the Association’s
total sales, followed by Truong Hai (18.1 percent) and Vinamotor (13 percent).
