MoF to raise automobile registration fee

Tax authorities are seeking point of view of functional agencies on a rise in automobile registration fees in Hanoi from the current 12 percent to 15 percent pa. This will be the highest automobile registration tax HCM City and Hanoi are allowed to apply.

In other provinces/cities, the allowable ceiling automobile registration tax is 10 percent.

The raising of automobile registration tax aims to minimise the registry of traffic means, especially cars.

In Hanoi, there are now 300,000 cars and four million motorbikes. The number surges 10-15 percent pa.
