April car import reaches 1,470 units
Ministry
of Industry and Trade reported Vietnam's April car import reached 1,470 CBUs
(excluding below 9-seat cars) with total value of $29 million. The figures of
March were 3,649 units worth $89 million.
Especially
the import of CBUs, motorbikes, automobile spare parts in April surged 44.5
percent year-on-year to $2.66 billion.
Enterprises
spent up to $8 million importing 6,000 complete motorbikes for distribution in
the domestic market.
In the
first four months of this year, six export items of Vietnam saw the spending of
over $1 billion, including seafood, rice, crude oil, wood and wooden products,
apparel and footwear. In details, seafood export earned $1.28 billion, rice
export with $2.1 million tonnes bringing in $1.12 billion, crude oil $1.78 billion,
wooden products at over $1 billion, apparel $3.04 billion and leather shoes
$1.36 billion. In April alone, the export turnover hit $5.7 billion, lifting
the total figure of Jan-April to $20.16 billion, a year-on-year growth of 8.9
percent.
