Car imports slump 7pct in June
In the latest figures released by general Department of Customs, Vietnam spent total $39.45 million on importing 2,180 Complete Built Units (CBU) in the first half of June, dropping 7 percent in volume and 3 percent in value in comparison with the same period of May.
As usual, the import costs in the last 15 days of
the month would be higher than the first half. Therefore, it was expected that
the total spending of CBU imports in June may reach 5,000 cars worth $80
million in value.
The statistics of general Department of Customs
showed that from the beginning of this year to first half of June, the
accumulative car imports reached 20,653 CBUs valued at $351.6 million.
