Bosch to make auto parts in Dong Nai
The plant will manufacture parts like steel belts
for continuously variable transmission in cars.
The company will also build a software and
technology center in Ho Chi Minh City modeled on the Robert Bosch Engineering
and Business Solution Co Ltd in India this quarter, Thoi Bao Kinh Te Sai Gon
Online (Saigon Economics Times Online) newspaper quoted Vo Quang Hue, general
director of Robert Bosch Vietnam Co, as saying.
The new center, whose cost has not been revealed, will
mainly create embedded software and technological solutions. By 2015 it will
have around 500 engineers working there.
This is for the first time that Bosch Group has
decided to invest in this field in Southeast Asia.
Hue said it has chosen the city to set up the
center because the city has well-developed IT infrastructure and supply of
quality manpower.
Bosch Vietnam supplies spare parts and provides
after-sales services for automobiles, communications systems and controls, fuel
systems, portable power tools, and security systems.
It reported a turnover of $43.4 million last year.
