Car sales in Vietnam fell 11% in October from a year earlier, the fourth straight month of decline
Compared
with the previous month, however, sales rose 14%, according to the Vietnam
Automobile Manufacturers' Association.
A total
of 10,421 cars were sold last month, compared with 11,762 cars in October last
year, the association said.
The data
include sales of both domestically produced and imported vehicles.
According
to government data issued last month, Vietnam imported 41,500 assembled cars,
valued at $759 million, in the first ten months of this year, down 28.4% on
year by volume and 17.4% by value.
Imports
of cars and car parts were worth $2.334 billion in the January to October
period, up 1.8% on year.
