2011-0106
Toyota Tsusho Saigon Motor Service Corp., also called Toyota Hung Vuong, is currently a leading dealer and service supplier for Toyota cars in Vietnam. It was established in December 1996 and is situated at a favorable place in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 6, with more than US$2.4 million in capital.
Performance
Unlike other Toyota dealers, Toyota Hung Vuong is a joint venture between Japan’s Toyota Tsusho Corporation and Vietnam’s SAMCO (Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation). This ensures a management system up to Toyota standards effective in the company, and Toyota’s latest technology is updated day after day.
The Toyota Hung Vuong showroom is always clean and spacious, and a pleasant set-up here puts customers in a good mood from entrance. The showroom is where customers take a look and hear about Toyota cars available from friendly and professional sales staff where customer can trust in. For those who want maintenance service, repair or some renovation, they can trust in the 4S service section of Toyota Kodawari standards, which are the currently highest standards.
The section covers over 2,200 square meters with 35 lots, one platform for car frame adjustment, two paint chambers with automatic temperature and humidity adjustment, four super-rapid paint lots, a computer system for paint colors, and a hi-tech lot outfitted with imported modern equipment. The engineers and technicians working here have been trained and certified by Toyota experts.
The success story of Toyota Hung Vuong was attributed to substantial contributions by general director Le Trung Chinh.
His leadership has brought continual development to the company and it has achieved good performance and awards such as a gold medal from the 2000 National Toyota Technicians Contest, a silver medal from the 2004 Toyota Good Service Advise Contest, being an excellent Toyota joint-venture dealer in 2002, having broken records of sales from 2005 to 2008 in a row. Especially, between 2006 and 2009, the company continuously won the title of Best Performance Toyota Dealer.
Toyota Hung Vuong won the Toyota Silver Cup in 2006, a bronze cup in 2007 and golden cup in 2008. Since 2006, Toyota Hung Vuong has been ranked among the 500 largest companies in Vietnam by the Vietnamese rating firm VNR.
Business Philosophy
During its success process, Toyota Hung Vuong has paid close attention to training, with the Toyota Way being the direction for human resource development to ensure professionalism. The company listens to any customer request as the slogan “Customer First” says. In addition to sales and service, the company has frequently held workshops to teach safe driving skills, and how to use and take care of the care best.
Toyota Hung Vuong has so far distributed 16,000 Toyota cars of different kinds and supplied car service to more than 225,000 units. Year 2009 saw stiffer competition due to an increasing number of Toyota dealers in Vietnam and global economic downturn, sales of local-made cars were influenced by imports. However, Toyota Hung Vuong reported its 2009 revenue at more than VND1.3 trillion, increasing by 105%, after-tax profit at over VND52 billion, which is higher than the combined profit in the first seven years (1997-2004), and increased by 133% year-on-year.
In addition, Toyota Hung Vuong pays close attention to environmental protection. The company has got the environment certificate ISO 14001:2004 issued by Britain’s Bureau Veritas. The company assures welfare for its employees. They have got insurance and periodical health check, and got free tourism trip annually. The employees have got a better life. The average monthly income for each was over VND10 million in the first six months of 2010. Activities for social organizations such as the Party, Labor Union and Youth Union are facilitated. In addition to jobs, Toyota Hung Vuong has also created equal chances for staff and a fair environment for them to work and live in.
General Director Le Trung Chinh speaks about his company’s 2010 plans: “We expect to sell 1,780 Toyota cars of different kinds this year, supply service to 35,000 cars, improve our working conditions and increase income for our staff. We also plan to broaden our service factory, get ready for integration, and seek to ensure that Toyota Hung Vuong is a popular and reliable place for customer.”
An impression – CUSTOMER FIRST is written in large size just in front of the repair factory and a Vietnamese flag with a yellow star flies above the headquarters. This tells what Toyota Hung Vuong wants to serve, and the role of Vietnamese workers in a foreign-invested company.
