Toyota Motor Vietnam helps the greening of Hanoi

Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) and the Institute of Ecological Economy (EcoEco) last week launched the project “Toyota-EcoEco tropical forest model - restoring 30 hectares of tropical forest on hilly Soc Son and reshaping Giong Temple’s landscape, Hanoi”.
The project, to be implemented until 2016, aims at restoring the tropical forest with valuable trees from different ecological areas with their own endemic structures, variety, layer, age and high bio-diversity.
It will also contribute to improving tropical forest ecosystems, preserving bio-diversity, embellishing the landscape of Giong Temple and raising environmental protection awareness of the local community.
The project is one of environmental protection activities of Go Green programme, which was initiated and has been implemented by TMV in coordination with General Department of Environment and the Ministry of Education and Training since 2008.
TMV president Akito Tachibana said: “The project is implemented with a view to restoring the tropical forest in Soc Son in order to join hands in protecting the forest, propagandise to raise awareness on environment protection among local people, accordingly expanding activities of environment protection education to our young generations not only during the project period, but also in the many years after that”.
