No decision to raise pre-registered fees to 15%
2010-0525
On May 19th, the Hanoi Tax Bureau said it has not made any decision to raise auto pre-registered fees to 15%. The rumors that auto pre-registered fees would increase as of June 10th are not accurate.
Deputy Head of the Hanoi Tax Bureau Nguyen Van Ho, in a discussion with the press, said that while other provinces now apply auto pre-registered fees of 10%, the figure is 12% in Hanoi.
Before increasing auto pre-registered fees, the tax sector needs more time to consider and set up plans to submit to the Hanoi People’s Committee and People Council for approval. The Hanoi People’s Committee has no official direction to raise the fees to 15%.
The Ministry of Finance recently issued circular No 68/2010/TT-BTC in which the ceiling pre-registered fees for passenger cars will be 15%.
