Italy becomes top motorbike supplier of Vietnam

Italy and China surpassed Thailand to become top two motorbike suppliers of Vietnam in November. But during the first 11 months generally, Thailand still was the top provider.
In November, the import of completed built motorbikes into Vietnam reached 3,666 units worth $6.3 million, down 18.2 percent in volume and 12.7 percent in value compared with October, according to data of general Statistical Office.
In Jan-Nov, total import of complete built motorbikes was 63,080 units worth $89 million, -28 percent and 20.4 percent respectively against the same period of 2010.
Leading the suppliers of motorbikes to Vietnam in November was Italy with 1,849 units worth $4.82 million. China placed Thailand behind in the last 3 months with respective volume and value of 874 units and 850 units, worth $493,600 and $821,430.
Therefore, in 11 months, Thailand supplied 28,182 motorbikes worth $26.27 million to Vietnam, followed by Italy with 21,814 units worth $53.60 million and China 11,852 units with $6.64 million.
December motorbike import of Vietnam will remain at low level compared with the previous year thanks to the increasing output of domestically made motorbikes.
