Mercedes-Benz drives luxury segment

Mercedes Benz continues to take the lead in Vietnam’s luxury car market with its Vietnam Motor Show 2011 offerings.
The show, organised last week at Ho Chi Minh City’s Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre, uncovered the firm’s all-new line-up of the new generation fuel-saving SLK350 BE AMG, new CLS350 BE AMG, GLK 2012 and E-class 2012.
The event also housed Mercedes’ innovative product presentation show in “Augmented Reality” technology for the first time in Vietnam. “We brought many new exciting cars to Vietnam Motor Show 2011. The new-generation SLK is leading the sports-car history into a new era.
While the CLS, for the second generation, exposes the true character and charisma of a four-passenger coupe in a daring new four-door body,” said Mercedes-Benz Vietnam’s general director Udo Loersch.
He said modern and eye-catching design, interaction with visitors were other highlights of the Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz also offered other attractions for visitors like the GT5 game, life-style collection of Mercedes-Benz accessory items and Techcombank finance consulting booth.
“Especially Mercedes-Benz introduced for the first time the augmented reality technology for visitors to interact with LCD screens to discover the world of Mercedes-Benz cars,” he said.
Mercedes-Benz also offered visitors the first-ever show of “E-class 2012 technology performance” in “AR -Augmented Reality” technology.
The latest SLK 350 BE AMG Roadster was also a show stopper. It is entering its third generation with an all new face that accentuates its classic roadster emblem with strong retro influence of the SLS AMG Gullwing super sport car.
With its new powerful V6 engine drawing 306 horse power at 6,500 rotations per minute and 370 Nm at 3,500 rotations per minute, the new roadster uncompromisingly takes driving pleasure and open-air enjoyment to a new level.
Meanwhile, the second-generation new CLS350 BE AMG with which Mercedes-Benz created a new four-door coupe vehicle concept category in 2003, refines the world of sports car with its all-new exterior and interior designs.
With LED headlamps and an engine of maximum 306hp at 6,500rpm and maximum torque of 370nm at 3,500-5,250rpm, the CLS has a V-shaped bonnet and its elegant interplay of lines and dimensions represent dynamic beauty. In elegantly long body shape, the CLS welcomes four passengers through four inviting doors with frameless glass.
Also, the new GLK 2012 is suitable for families on and off-road. With the versatility of typical SUV and the manners of a luxury Mercedes, the GLK cabin gives generous accommodation which offers first-class comfort and best-in-class safety. It has the powerful V6 engine and 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, which are still the best in SUV segment.
The firm said the newly launched E-Class 2012 range continued helping it with further success, because the range was setting benchmarks not only for success, but also with regards to safety, profitability and efficiency.
The range, the most luxurious passenger cars manufactured in Vietnam, was most-favoured by leaders, business people, top management, diplomatic organisations or five-star hotel groups.
The popular Mercedes-Benz E-Class range represented a whole new line-up from the E200 BE, E250 BE, E300 to the flagship E300 AMG.
